Reflection on group work assignments based on Gibbs' Reflective Cycle
Here I am going to be talking about my own experiences that I went through while working on group projects. First of all, I would like to admit that all of us showed great teamwork and willingness to help one another. We were able to successfully divide responsibilities among ourselves based on our interests.
Sometimes some of us would disagree with the decisions of our team leader. However, our team leader used a more democratic approach which enabled him to give importance to our statements.
I enjoyed my experience while working with my group. This was because most of my group members were very supportive and each of us helped each other with the entire project.
However, I did feel a lack of self-confidence during the completion of this project, which at some point did hinder my productivity through some way or the other, but I managed to stay focused and proceeded with my work with due diligence. While reflecting on my feelings , I felt that I had achieved something that was very important for me.
On evaluating my entire experience, it could be stated that the majority of the project went smoothly because of the proper communication we had established amongst each other and also because of the leadership skills of our team leader as well.
Even when there were disagreements within the members of the team, we acted as a single unit and communicated our issues and problems with each other.
Teamwork increases the quality of a project (Yap et al, 2020). Some of the drawbacks that I have identified within myself, was a little bit of self-doubt during certain stages of the project, that I could have handled in a much better fashion.

From this assignment, I learned that it is important for team members to have healthy bonds with one another since this enables a team to function well as everyone will be able to trust each other. Secondly, ego or anxiety in teamwork causes more harm than good for a team (Pitts, 2021).
Therefore, through analyzing my entire experience, I would say that our team received good grades because of the proper communication and understanding we had established, which further led to better understanding amongst ourselves.
From this experience, I learned that trust is the main thing that holds a team together and enables the success of a team-based project. Doubts and fears about one another or failures can cause teams to fail.
I also learned that people in teams must have an innovative mindset to do things in better ways (Markkanen et al., 2020). Some of the qualities that I have gathered through this entire experience were trust, task-orientation, and corporation that are essential for a team to operate properly.
The action plan that I have developed for myself based on the learnings gained through this reflection, is that I should improve my abilities to handle tough situations and have more faith in myself. This would only be possible when I further polish my skills and make myself even better, which would help me multitask as well.
Self-confidence is an essential skill to improve employability (Puad et al, 2020). All the members of my team were very cooperative so I wish to develop better leadership skills.
